The tagline of Llibreria Calders is "a bookstore specializing in books." This former button factory in the Sant Antoni neighborhood in Barcelona has a huge selection nonfiction and fiction, mostly in Spanish, but with a smattering of English and French books throughout. Oh, and a little bar and performance area.
Plenty of independent publications, too, like a photocopied critique of Henry Miller by Isabel Pous and Laia Nonell as well as "Leyendas Suburbanas" (Suburban Legends), a zine about post-adolescents in Spain. I found a book about Morrissey in English and a translation, in Spanish, of Owen Jones' Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class. If I had a hammock and a glass of cava, I would have stayed all week.
